Launching of Pambazuko Mashinani

Like that drizzle in the sun shine that we all loved when we were young, my heart is a pleasant mixture of joy….and yes pride, as I invite you to the launch of PAMBAZUKO MASHINANI at Korogocho Community Centre (Kwa Chief) in Nairobi, Kenya as from 12noon on July 2nd 2011.

After one year of planning together with my friends & partners in the USA and Kenya, I am happy to present to you Pambazuko Mashinani.

Pambazuko Mashinani’s mission is to build the power & capacity of young people to connect and engage as participative, change-driving citizens. Pambazuko Mashinani strengthens, connects and mobilizes grassroots groups to enhance their leadership, voice and power. We believe that vibrant community-based organizations, led by the people most affected by social and economic injustice, are key to building a better Kenya

Only by the young people themselves challenging Kenya’s governance processes, that we can build a better Kenya for everyone that we can realize better health, democratic governance, social and economic justice.
• We believe that all the youth should have a voice in the decisions that affect our lives and be fully engaged in our democracy.
• We believe in a Kenya that honors the diversity of our racial and ethnic backgrounds as well as our experiences, talents and dreams.
• We believe that only together – by sharing our hopes, connecting with each other, and taking action together – can we change our communities and nation for the better.
